[INTRODUCTION]
There haven’ been many fembots in the anime world, and those that have been designed, not many actual products have been released. I believe the perception of some manufacturers is that female robots are not important or does not have the pull factor especially for toys targeted at children. Well one company decided to do something about it and after many hours of designing and prototyping, a fembot dubbed A.R.C has been released by them. We being the Singapore channel have the opportunity to review an earlier prototype of the released product. Before I proceed, do note that when we received the item, it was already fixed up. Secondly it came without much sanding or painting, so if you notice the model kit being rough, yes it is. However I believe modelers who know what to do with resin kits would say this is a diamond in the rough.

[SCULPT]
A.R.C is primarily white and pink. There is a very close resemblance to Arcee, a fembot from the Transformers universe, and essentially A.R.C was partially inspired by this character. As the designers were using high quality resin material to make A.R.C, the sculpt and the design had to be catered to the characteristics of the material.

The sculpt essentially is quite well done given the prototype was hand sculpted and then copies were made from the mold derived from the prototype. There is enough panel lining to give A.R.C the robot feel and also the curves to make it know A.R.C is a fembot.

As the item we received was a prototype, it was not painted, not panel lined, and also not sanded properly, so for those who’re receiving the kit version, do be prepared to put some effort (or acquire some modeling services externally) to make the kit the A.R.C it’s suppose to be.

[ARTICULATION]

A.R.C is quite articulated. The fembot has four points on each arm, 6 on each leg and one on the neck. With these articulation points, we could give A.R.C quite a photo shoot but the toy required the help of a doll stand because it had highheels, and a small footprint to balance and stand on.

The articulation points are held together with screws and rubber so that you can tighten or loosen the joints without impacting the resin material itself. So if you are those that like to transform your toys, well A.R.C can take a bit of punishment.

[GIMMICKS]
A.R.C has a few tricks up her sleeves. Firstly she carried two laser pistols which can be held with the hands and also attached to the vehicle. The vehicle also sports rubber wheels so it can actually roll on the ground. Another nice point of A.R.C is that the head becomes a smaller robot, or in the Transformers world a headmaster, which from the sculpt is reminiscent of the exoskeleton worn by Daniel in Transformers the movie.

[SUMMARY]
A.R.C is being sold primarily as a finished item by Rabid Squirrel Productions. However for the local market, it would be delivered as a resin model kit with instructions (slightly cheaper). The kit has a nice fembot sculpt, uses quality resin material that can take some punishment. Lastly it’s not a mass production item, but it has a limited run. For those who’re looking for A.R.C to add into their collection of transforming toys and by the way it’s scaled to Alternators/ Binaltechs in the Transformers line, leave no doubt, get the item before it runs out.

We give A.R.C a vivacious 7/10 overall.
