(NOT FOR SALE)

I purchased the MasterHead piece about 3 years ago from
an online collector and proceeded to try and find out where it
came from. I though I'd dug up some really interesting
information and created this
AUCTION with what I'd found out. As it turns out I was
wrong. I should have known better as I never could substantiate
the info I got beyond a single source, well live and learn.
After that auction I set about looking for information from the
community and came up more or less empty. Still nothing solid.
During this period I had many requests to duplicate this piece
for sale, so after all these years I decided that it was time to
give up the search and simply duplicate this piece and sell it
for what it was. A very nice custom item that fit nicely into an
existing toy line. Seems like when you stop looking that's
when you find what you were after. This piece is no different. I
have just recieved substantiated information that details this
pieces creation, creator, and history. (Shown in italics below).
So to everyone who's looked for information on this piece and to
everyone who's taken time to tell me how wrong I've been about
its origins, here you go. No more debating, no more name
calling.
The complete and correct history of
the MasterHead
(Named such to avoid legal entanglement)
Hey Hal,
That little guy is one of two cast from a
mold made by Hirofumi Omichi. I was in contact with him for a
while and bought pieces from his collection almost ten years
ago. I bought a Grand Maximus from him that he had remolded the
smaller original Headmaster body and made his own cartoon
accurate face and cast it. I received the one you have with
Grand Max and later got an unassembled one, I still have it. The
one you have was repainted by me and I had sealed it up in the
little acrylic box it was sent to me in. I later traded the
Grand Maximus and the head went with it. I had the other so no
big deal to me. I guess the fellow I traded it to sold it to
you. I am no longer collecting but I still like Transformers ©
and have a scant few. When I saw the post that you were making
the kits and apparently it was a mystery piece I couldn't help
but chuckle. If you ever saw the matrix kits with the little
movie accurate holder for G1 prime Hirofumi is the same guy who
made those.
So that’s the story. Good luck with those
kits.
